An annual event since 2003, the Cool Science Day at UCCS has been expanded and renamed the Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival, now co-hosted by the Colorado Springs Science Center Project, Cool Science, the Center for STEM Education at the University of Colorado- Colorado Springs, and Biological Sciences Curriculum Study.
