This one-day celebration features more than 30 activities, including a Hazmat decontamination simulation in a real Hazmat unit, playing “Blood, Guts and Healing!” on a Wii console, competing to build the tallest strongest tower in 8 minutes, designing a wind turbine, and operating robotics.
What: iExploreSTEM, a festival to nurture interests of Iowa children and families in the exciting fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). This awe-inspiring day will feature compelling, educational, and entertaining activities and exhibits to boost kids’ interest in STEM.

Where: State Hygienic Laboratory, University of Iowa research Park, Coralville, IA
Goals: To increase the interest of Iowa youth in STEM; and to enlighten students to STEM-related educational and career opportunities here in Iowa.
