Annual Celebration
Future dates to be announced.
The Singapore Science Festival 2010 was previously known as the National Science Month (2001 to 2009 – titled Science.01 to Science.09). The Festival was initiated by the Agency for Science, Technology And Research (A*STAR) and has grown into Singapore's biggest annual science event. The new name was chosen to better reflect the character of the Festival as a celebration of Science and Technology for everyone, young and old.
Jointly organised by A*STAR and the Science Centre Singapore, the Singapore Science Festival 2010 is an annual national event celebrating the dynamism of science, engineering, technology and biomedicine. This year, more than 100 events, seminars and shows have been lined up over three weeks to provide an exciting and engaging time for youths, adults and families.
The Festival takes on a new focus and theme this year. Last year, it sought to encourage people?s natural curiosity by having them “Ask Why” - a fundamental question that drives all scientific enquiry. This year, we hope to encourage them to go a step further and discover the answers to their own questions through simple experiments, research and first-hand observations, hence the theme, “Know Why”.
