…but the show goes on! Ithaca’s Light in Winter festival celebrates its 8th year of exploring the connection between science, the arts, and our everyday lives, with acts like the Cayuga Vocal Ensemble (pictured here) taking the stage in the name of science.
Light in Winter was originally created to celebrate the unique history of scientific and artistic innovation in Ithaca, New York, while also drawing visitors to the city in the depths of winter. Under the guidance of Cornell professor and festival founder Barbara Mink, Light in Winter is successful on both counts. The festival program juxtaposes musical and dance performance with dynamic science speakers, art gallery openings, a “Hall of Wonders” indoor science carnival, and unique events like this year’s Dark Dining Project, a gourmet meal served in total darkness.
