The third annual San Diego Science Festival runs for 8 days this month, from March 19 – 26. Join the Science Festival Alliance on the final EXPO Day, which fills San Diego’s major league baseball stadium in the name of science.
The San Diego Science Festival features a week of interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities, and dynamic speakers to engage kids and families in science and engineering. The festival is organized by the University of California, San Diego, which is partnering with hundreds of community businesses and organizations to present more than two-dozen signature events throughout the county, beginning with a massive family day in Balboa Park, and culminating in EXPO Day at PETCO Park, home of the Padres. While the public programming begins March 19, festival programming has been underway in area schools for weeks with 50 scientists and engineers reaching out to over 100 classes throughout greater San Diego. More than 75,000 kids, parents, scientists, educators, and community members are expected to participate in festival events this year. For more information and to contact the festival organizers, visit the San Diego Science Festival website.
