San Diego Celebration This Week!

Thursday, 18 March 2010

The Science Festival is taking over San Diego, ending in a huge expo at the downtown stadium. Can't be there in person? Follow along online…

Now in its second year, the San Diego Science Festival (SDSF) will reach out to all of San Diego County. The festivities begin on Saturday, March 20 with day-long celebrations at San Diego State University and Balboa Park, as well as other diverse offerings, from a kayak trip with the San Diego Natural History Museum, to a kid-friendly “science of bubbles” event, to a concert featuring “gene-encoded protein music.”

Although the main event will be a blow-out expo celebration with over 150 activities at Petco Park on Saturday, March 27, the festival has already been hard at work connecting researchers and thousands of middle and high school students. The festival’s Nifty 150 program places scientists in local schools to meet students face to face.
