Cochise College Hosts Math and Science Experience

Hundreds of elementary school students gathered at the inaugural Math and Science Experience at Cochise College on May 7th. The event brought together businesses and educators in order to bolster student interest in STEM in southern Arizona.

Inside the new student union building, a variety of hands-on experiments awaited the students, including an activity from the Arizona Department of Mines and Mineral Resources.

“They filled a pie tin with bird seeds and we had to dig through it to find these small beads,” said Melanie Parke, a seventh-grader from Benson Middle School.
