Monday, 16 August 2010 | Science Festival Alliance | Author: Ben Wiehe

Public engagement with science is about more than just sharing facts with a lay audience: it is about stimulating a meaningful dialogue between science and society.

Maybe you’ve seen this in action at a recent science festival. With their flexible programming formats and emphasis on face-to-face interactions between science professionals and the public, science festivals are an ideal setting for public engagement. Nominations for early career scientists and engineers that exemplify public engagement with secience are due October 15.
