The Austin Science and Engineering Festival kicked off yesterday, October 2, in Austin, Texas. The festival is a satellite event of the USA Science and Engineering Festival and will culminate with an Expo on the 23rd and 24th of October to celebrate the inaugural USA Festival. The final Expo promises more than 100 hands-on activities. Â There's also plenty of other events to enjoy before the Expo. Â There will be festival events from now until the start of the Expo. Festival-goers can join the astronomy department at the University of Texas for one of their weekly star parties, where they can have a look at a few planets and star clusters, using the 16 inch telescope. Â Visitors can also enjoy a free tour of the Hall of Geology and Paleontology at the Texas Memorial Museum in celebration of National Fossil Day on October 13th.
