First Science In Vivo Teams Announced

Results are in from the first Call for Applications: The Science Festival Alliance has just named the first 11 teams selected by competitive application to participate in the Science In Vivo project. These teams will each be exploring what is possible when science experiences for the public are integrated into existing cultural gatherings. There are two categories of teams. Experimental Sites are trying something—a new kind of activity, a new setting, a new audience—for the first time. Digging Deeper Sites build on experiments that have already been run and use the approach of “going where the people are” to build deeper ongoing relationship with communities and audiences. (Read more about the Science In Vivo project). The next Science In Vivo Call for Participation closes on June 18, 2018. So look out for announcements about new teams, and keep an eye on these upcoming projects by subscribing to the Science Festival Alliance newsletter and following us @ScienceFests.(photo: Science Day at the Ballpark: An example of "going where the people are.")Digging Deeper SitesPop-up STEAM Gallery Ongoing in Philadelphia, PA: The Franklin Institute The Pop-up STEAM Gallery project will bring interactive installations joining science with art, and originally commissioned for the Philadelphia Science Festival, to other public events throughout the year.
